Security Upgrades 2021

Jan 17, 2022 | Security

In 2021 residents of Maisonnette Meent experienced 4 break-ins on two separate occasions. In an attempt to prevent any further crime in the complex, security cameras were installed in December that is monitored 24/7 by Mooirivier Beskerming. If any suspicious activity is observed, reaction services will be dispatched immediately to address the situation.

The cameras were installed in two locations. A shorter-range camera monitors the gate and another long-range camera was installed to monitor the main driveway from the gate to the pool area.

The funding for the project came from a reserve of funds accumulated in the Maisonnette Home Owners Association and there will be no extra cost requirement from Owners with regards to the installation and setup of the system. There might be a small adjustment in the levy in order to meet the monitoring cost paid monthly to Mooirivier Beskerming. This will be discussed at the next MMHOA meeting held in 2022.

We hope that the monitored camera system, functioning along with the cameras set up by the Baillie Park Community Project, will provide protection and prevent crime in the area while also increasing the property value as security is often first in mind when buying a new property.
